One Second, Every Day
I have taken a video every single day since December 21st 2012, the day I turned 19 (minus a few misses here-and-there). I then cut the videos down to be a single second in duration - a bare flash - and stitch them together, from birthday to birthday, to show a slice of my life.
Each year is about six-and-a-half minutes; each decade is just over an hour. The videos show me in school and at work, out at a bar or watching TV at home, living in London and Pittsburgh and Atlanta and Wellington. They reveal friendships both allegro and adagio, the pain of losing an old love and the joy found in a new.
But most of all, they show the fractal of a single life among billions.

Taking the video is only half the fun: I also record where I was, who I was with, and what we were doing for each and every video, to quantify the patterns of how I have spent my time over the years.
